What the reader learns
That the aesthetic dimension of Su Shi is a property of his commemorative records and prefaces far more than of his policy treatises; that intellectual lineage rises when letters enter; that historical dynamics and authority are stable across almost any selection. None of this is a verdict about the man. It is a description of a corpus, and the corpus is the reader's to compose.
A profile that moves when the corpus moves is doing what it should. The interesting quantity is not the value of a dimension but its sensitivity: which selections change it, by how much, and which works carry the change.
